apparently I'm just pissy
And I'm not allowed to defend the team that I root for, because heaven fucking forbid someone doesn't like the goddamned cubs. I don't watch baseball! It's BORING! I like hockey. It's NOT boring! Fuck off with your damn cubs and get over the fact that the Red Winds rock, kick ass, and is my team of choice. Oh don't give me your shit about the penguins. You didn't give a flying fuck until I did about the Red Wings so go back to your damn Cubs and baseball and fuck off.

If you really care to see what spawned this go to facebook and check out the too cute for comfort picture where Isa has on my red wings hat. Also realize the Kelly is a RABID Cubs fan and doesn't let anyone talk shit about her team. But it's totally cool to shoot down everyone else's respective teams even though none of the rest of us root for baseball teams.

No really though, sorry I'm so pissy lately. I just got use to being around mellow Saddler and Charity apparently.

Next time, tell her you like the Tigers. That should at least get sympathy points for how much both teams are engaged in futility.

naw she knows I don't really like the tigers and all it spawns is more ridicule because Kelly thinks she's cool because the cubs are SO much better than the tigers...

Remind her when the last time was that eacg team won a pennant, or even went to the Series, and then say that it's better to root for a team that at least looks good at times.

Cubs fans are a whole other breed. There is no logic (think Lucy and Charlie Brown and the fateful football). None. And the more they lose, the more they dig in their heels that they aren't fair weather fans and next year will be their year...it's baffling and tragic and amusing, all at the same time.

Now don't get me wrong, I like the Cubs. I also like the Sox, and the Tigers, and any other team that I can get free tickets to go see. But being in proximity to the Cub fan's mecca, I've learned a thing or two about dealing with The Rabid Cubs Fan. Never reason with them, simply make sure you always have an adequate supply of Oldstyle on hand for soothing the savage beast.

No no, it's one of the official beers at Wrigley, I swear! They brought this on themselves! I'm not out to kill Cubs fans, just disarm and distract long enough for me to get out of the way, and Oldstyle seems to do the trick. That and impersonating Harry Caray, but I'm much better at packing beer.

In the interest of full disclosure, I have consumed Oldstyle at Wrigley during various Cubs games. I'm not a hater, and it just seems like the right thing to do.

I now officially hate you for this... I'm all for disarming a rowdy fan and all but what the hell are they doing to themselves, are there no standards left in this world.
